Housed in what was once the old town bakery in the historic market town of Alnwick, the Bakehouse Gallery offers the visitor a deceptively large space in which to view the work of many talented local artists and designers covering a wide range of themes, styles and subject matter.
Original oils, mixed media, ceramics, glasswork and metalwork are displayed alongside jewellery designed by myself, Fiona Stanley, with choice pieces by other designers and artisans. There is also a definite leaning towards tactile art with felted sculptures and hooky wall hangings, wirework pictures and vintage silk goodies.
To sum up - The Bakehouse is an inviting and inspiring gallery oozing light and harmony, full of texture, vibrancy and colour with the overriding emphasis, most definitely, on quality.
Simply follow the brown tourist signs upon entering Alnwick.
Open Tuesday to Saturday 10:30am to 5:00pm (Sundays in the Summer)
And always by appointment.
